A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Streatham.
Police were called at 8.15pm last night (May 11) to a crash involving a car and a motorcycle in Leigham Court Road.
Officers, ambulance crews and London's Air Ambulance went to the scene.
A motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, died at the scene.
Officers believe they know the victim’s identity and have informed next of kin.
Police are working to find a number of people who are believed to have fled the scene on foot.
There have been no arrests at this stage and investigations continue.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 20:15hrs on Thursday, 11 May to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Leigham Court Road SW16.
“Officers attended with LAS and London's Air Ambulance.
“The motorcyclist, a male aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers believe they know his identity and have informed next of kin.
“Police are working to trace a number of people who are believed to have fled the scene on foot.
“At this early stage there have been no arrests.
“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
